I am a jewelry designer, and this is my story. My first encounter with Buddhism and Zen meditation was in 2010, fifteen years ago. At that time, I was caught in the noise and distractions of daily life, my heart drifting like a leaf with no direction, unable to find stillness. When I first stepped onto the path of meditation, all I wanted was a moment of quiet—a brief pause amid the chaos. I still remember my very first session vividly: my legs were numb, my thoughts were a storm, and my mind surged like untamed waves crashing back and forth. But as I slowly followed my breath and gently listened to the subtle ripples deep within, a long-lost peace quietly emerged. In that moment, it felt as though I heard the voice of my own soul.
Day after day, as I continued to practice, I began to notice subtle changes within. Zen meditation taught me to pause, to observe my inner world, and to discover that true strength is not in holding on, but in learning to let go. Things that once made me anxious or angry, I began to see with calm; the uncertainty I once feared became easier to accept through the wisdom of impermanence. Meditation made me soft yet strong. It taught me to embrace the present moment, to meet myself with compassion, and to face others with understanding, letting emotions pass like drifting clouds without lingering in my heart.
Life began to shift quietly. With my loved ones, I learned to listen with a gentle heart and to understand their world. When facing challenges, I now steady my heart before seeking the way forward. When facing myself, I finally learned compassion and acceptance—no longer harsh, no longer running away. Zen practice hasn’t taken me away from reality; it has taught me to embrace reality with clarity and awareness, turning every detail of life into a moment of mindfulness and calm.
Now, every breath and every step feels like a journey back into my own heart. Buddhism and Zen meditation have shown me that true beauty isn’t found in external possessions, but within the ever-pure, untouched heart. Fifteen years of this journey have not only brought me inner peace but also taught me the value of sharing. Because of this gift and blessing, I want to pass it on—to let this sense of calm and blessing continue into the lives of others.
And so, Sacred Light Art was born. As a jewelry designer, I infuse every piece with the insights of meditation and the blessings of Buddhism. Each design is more than just jewelry; it is a vessel carrying a message for the soul. My hope is that when you wear one of these pieces, you can feel a moment of serenity amidst the busyness of life—just as I did the first time I heard the quiet peace within during meditation. Perhaps this small piece of jewelry can become the beginning of your own journey back to your heart, where beauty and stillness quietly reside.
